Distance learning for Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park schools on Tues., Apr. 13
Tuesday, April 13 will be another distance learning day for physical District 279 schools located in the cities of Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park. Kidstop and after-school and evening activities for these schools are again canceled. The goal of this decision is to help ensure the safety of students and staff in the areas where there is the greatest potential for concern, as evidenced by the current heightened presence of law enforcement due to public safety concerns.
The move to distance learning affects only physical schools located in the cities of Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park, and it is a decision made out of an abundance of caution with safety in mind. If your student lives in Brooklyn Center or Brooklyn Park but attends school in Maple Grove or Osseo, they will attend school as usual tomorrow.
Students will return to in-person learning at those schools on Wednesday. If this decision is changed, families will receive communication by email and phone.
Free meals will be available for affected students
Meals for students affected by tomorrow’s shift to distance learning at designated schools can be picked up curbside from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the front entrance of the Educational Service Center, 11200 93rd Ave N, Maple Grove.
