Birch Grove School for the Arts hosts Family Arts Night

Birch Grove School for the Arts hosts Family Arts Night

Birch Grove School for the Arts hosted a Family Arts Night. Scholars and their families were invited to visit the school for fun arts activities.

At Birch Grove, scholars can learn through their passion for the arts every day by weaving arts education and core concepts together. Teaching through the arts helps students experience concepts rather than merely discussing or reading about them, and the study of the arts has been linked to scholars' increased critical and creative thinking skills, self-esteem, willingness to take risks and ability to work with others.

Parents/guardians moved from classroom to classroom, participating in creative activities that their students do each day. They took part in theater games and a puppet party, played games in the family game room, created glow art, visited the zen coloring room, tinkered in the library with kits provided by the Children’s Museum of Minnesota, made creative cards and bookmarks, explored the art room and created music with Drums Alive. Families also learned more about Birch Grove Gives Back.
